frequently asked questions
What software do you use? ... We use Final Cut Pro X and Garageband along with additional plugins when needed.
How much do you charge? ... We charge based on the project. We take into account the amount of time worked, people involved, and resources required to execute our client's vision.
Will the final file be optimized for specific platforms like YouTube, Instagram, or TikTok? ... Yes, the file will be formatted and optimized according to the client's request.
What happens if a client completely changes their vision halfway through, and how is that handled in your fee structure? ... All final instructions will be outlined in writing to prevent confusion and to maintain accountability. If the client's vision changes midway through production, then so would the price. How much so would depend on how major the change.
What exactly will I receive—a final MP4, the project file (e.g., .prproj), or both? ... This depends on the client's request. Clayfield is flexible in the file types it can provide.

How many people are involved in creating my project? ... This depends on the project. For projects strictly involving one skill, such as editing or drawing, only one person will be involved. For projects that involve multiple skillsets, multiple people will be involved.
What materials do I need to provide (raw footage, scripts, music)? ... This is something that can only be answered in the client/contractor interview. Required materials will vary per project.
What metrics do you use to evaluate the effectiveness of your pacing? ... We combine analytics from multiple social media platforms and website to fully assess and determine an audience's engagement.
How will we communicate during the process (e.g., email, Frame.io, video calls)? ... We will be communicating entirely through email so all communications can be printed for company records.
How do you stay updated on trends? ... Clayfield relies on its team of diverse entrepreneurs to keep educated on current trends, using dedicated online servers to instantly communicate progressive plans for relatable content.
Can you create short-form clips from my long-form content? ... Yes, Clayfield can create short-form clips from your long-form content. Our company has generated hundred of thousands of views by doing the same with much of our long-form content.
What steps do you take to maintain a consistent color grade and tone across segments shot in different lighting conditions? ... Clayfield uses standard industry graphs to maintain quality color and resolution.
How do you ensure your edits align with our specific visual style and target audience? ... Through research and brand awareness, we achieve very specific representation of the client's image and style. An important part of this research is careful consideration of the client's expressed views during preemptive conversations.
How long does editing take? ... The time for a project varies depending on the length and type of edit being done. Talking head videos of less than an hour take about two hours to edit, whereas a five minute short film could take eight hours. Short form content of sixty seconds or less on average take an hour to an hour and a half. Each of these numbers is an estimate and could vary depending on various aspects of the individual project.
Do you provide sound design as part of the service? ... Yes, if the client requests, but this does impact pricing.
Who legally owns the final deliverables, and how do you handle the licensing of third-party music or stock footage? ... Once paid and complete, the final deliverables become legal property of the client. All licensing for third party stock footage and music will be transferred along with the finalized project.
How many rounds of revisions are included in your quote? ... Two revisions are included in every project. Every additional revision increases the project rate by 2%.
How do we transfer large video files (e.g., Dropbox, Google Drive)? ... We will be transferring files via a company Google Drive folder that will be made available.
