HOT DOGS CONTAIN HUMAN DNA

According to a study published by Clear Labs in 2015, hot dogs can contain up to 3% human DNA. They discovered this by analyzing 345 hot dogs and sausages from seventy-five different brands sold at 10 food retailers. In a process called DNA Barcoding, Clear Labs used Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) to identify the species that comprise various food products. With this unique tool, they found that 14.4% of the products they tested contained unexpected ingredients, such as meat in vegetarian products. Strangely enough, two-thirds of the human DNA found was in vegetarian hot dogs.
These results have been classified as a hygienic issue, as this study may illustrate a failure to maintain clean food production facilities. Clear Labs’ results seem to imply that human hair or skin dander from employees contaminated food products during the manufacturing process. Either that, or something much worse could be inferred…
